Level 2 certification requires that the peace officer meet the POST requirements for firearms qualification. Any grandfathered peace officer who interrupts their full-time law enforcement service for a period in excess of five years and has less than five years of law enforcement experience, shall be required to complete a POST Basic Peace Officer certification training at a POST Academy. The peace officer will complete a training course with a minimum of 496 hours required for certification.

June, 2023, marks the 48th anniversary of the Louisiana Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (POST). POST was established by Act 397 of 1976, as amended, to develop training standards for peace officers in the State of Louisiana. The past 47 years have been eventful and rewarding for those involved in carrying out the Council’s goal of ensuring that the citizens of Louisiana are provided with police services of the highest quality. Our work to help create a safe place for teens and families has no finish line. In March, we set every teen’s daily screen time to 60 minutes by default, with almost three-quarters of teens choosing to keep the limit.

EverGen has offered to provide free Class A Compost to Pilot Butte and Edenwold residents as further incentive to support this worthwhile initiative. EverGen is meeting and exceeding these regulations and is committed to ensuring this project has a positive community benefit and does not impact neighbours. The Gore compost system encapsulates the organic materials and reduces odour by up to 97 per cent. This technology operates across 300 locations in 50 countries around the world successfully.

California can lead the world in how we serve our students

Members are conscientious and work hard for the refinement of law enforcement in our state. The POST Council may not suspend or revoke the certification of a peace officer for a violation of statute or ordinance, or a violation of the employing law enforcement agency’s policies, that does not include misconduct listed in above. Due process requirements by law shall be afforded to the peace officer whose misconduct is under review. All law enforcement agencies within the state of Louisiana shall immediately report the conviction of any POST certified/grandfathered full-time, part-time, or reserve peace officer to the Council.

Level 1 certification requires that the peace officer meet the POST requirements for firearms qualification. “Peace Officer” also includes those sheriff deputies whose duties include the care, custody and control of inmates, military police officers within the La. Military Department, and security personnel employed by the Supreme Court of Louisiana. The POST Council members represent law enforcement and organizations within the law enforcement community.Our principle purpose is to establish and enforce the training, education, and employment standards of peace officers. Members receive no compensation but may be reimbursed for travel and per diem expenses.

The collective knowledge and wisdom of these members ensures the decisions made by the Council are well considered and in the best interests of law enforcement in general. EverGen has been working hard for nearly four years with the City of Regina to make bringing food waste recycling to Regina and its surrounding communities a reality. This started with a “pilot program” in 2020 utilizing the same compost system proposed for the Rural Municipality of Edenwold. Canada’s last major city to compost food waste may have to wait even longer to pull coffee grinds and corn cobs out of its landfill.

Last year we launched a content filtering tool to allow people to filter out videos with words or hashtags they’d prefer to avoid seeing in their For You or Following feeds. Since then, we’ve heard from parents and caregivers that they’d like more ways to customize the topics their teen may prefer not to stumble upon, as every teen is unique and caregivers are often closest to their teen’s individual needs. Today, we’re bringing this tool to Family Pairing to empower caregivers to help reduce the likelihood of their teen viewing content they may uniquely find jarring.

Members are committed to seeking equity-based solutions that center on student needs and realities. POST reimburses eligible agencies for some of the costs incurred during POST certification training courses.
